Hello 日本

Happenings

1. As you might have noticed, the blog got a makeover. This layout rather reminds me of a bamboo forest. I like it :)

2. Today was awesome. I felt like my Japanese is slowly getting to conversational level. As in, I can have at least one minute of total Japanese conversation. Ahhh, bliss.

3. Shiori wrote me the most hilarious note ever today. I shall take a picture of it to show you all. She’s really quite adorable.

4. GOLDEN WEEEEK~! Despite that fact that Golden Week is in fact, only four days, I am so pumped! Actually, I’m excited mostly for sleep. And not having to wear that terrible uniform. Oh, how I despise it. I am frequently yelled at my Hayakawa-sensei to pull my skirt down. Because it’s one centimeter above my knee. GOODNESS.

5. My host mother tried to pawn me off onto Eri’s piano teacher tonight. It was pretty hilarious.

6. I have been employed by Hayakawa-sensei to sketch/paint areas of the school for the school pamphlet thing. Meaning I got to skip my Japanese lesson on Thursday to SIT OUTSIDE AND DRAW. It was awesome!!

7. I love how in Japan you buy a bottle of shampoo/soap/whathaveit and after that you just buy the $2 refill bags rather than a new bottle every time. It’s so convenient and environmentally friendly :)

8. I’ve decided to join volunteer club at school. Not sure when it actually starts, though, but Sehee said it’s only once every three months. Still, Hayakawa-sensei hasn’t been harping on me to join more clubs lately. This makes me happy. I actually spotted her today and ran away due to not wanting a confrontation.

9. I’ve taken to reading or drawing in pretty much every class. Plus side of it is that it strikes up conversations with people in class. The negative side would be that I don’t pay attention in class, but it’s not like I can understand anything anyway. I spent my whole PC Studies class playing on my cellphone the other day. And getting wicked bad scores on the typing speed tests because it was all Japanese.
