I received some mail from ASSE last night. Nothing too exciting, really. Just the little information letter on host families. I still like getting mail from them though. It makes me feel involved. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy getting mail?
Today at Japanese school, my teacher shared with the class some candies from Japan that her mother sent her. These candies are called いちごみるく (ichigo miruku or strawberry milk). Shirakawa sensei compared them to campinos.
Recently, Ben sent me this email:
Just yesterday, I finished the copying of a document shared with me at the International meeting by the Director from Japan. It is now awaiting compilation, folding and insertion into an envelope so it can race to you and the other CDN students heading to Japan in the New Year. Watch the mail as I hope to get it out to you today…
Flight dates as I have them… and don’t expect they will change… has you departing for Japan on March 20, 2008 and returning to Los Angeles on January 12, 2009
I received the package from him a little while ago and it was full of interesting information on Japanese culture and lifestyle. Yes, chock full of important info such as how to properly use a squat toilet and how to take a bath.
